Hotel overview

Grand Canyon Lodges offer a distinctive blend of historic charm and natural beauty right on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Travelers can choose from classic accommodations such as El Tovar, Bright Angel, and cozy cabins that perfectly capture the spirit of this iconic destination. The lodges serve as a convenient base for outdoor activities, including walking several miles of the pet-friendly Rim Trail that showcases breathtaking panoramic canyon views throughout the day.

The atmosphere here is relaxed but lively, with opportunities for dining, shopping local crafts, and gathering visitor information before setting out on hikes. During cooler months, guests appreciate the crisp air and layered clothing to stay comfortable. Though parking is free, it can be challenging during peak times, and amenities such as clean restrooms are located near bus drop-off points rather than directly on trails. Overall, these lodges provide a straightforward, authentic experience for those seeking immersion in the Grand Canyon’s natural wonder and local culture.

“Perfect spot for those wanting the full Grand Canyon experience in the south rim. The area features historic stays like El Tovar, Bright Angel and cabins, plus dining and gift shops. The highlight was walking a few miles of the Rim Trail with our dog, it’s such a pet-friendly way to soak in those stunning canyon views. It gets a bit chilly up here so I was glad to have my jacket during our early March trip. There's clean restrooms near the bus drop off area, but not on the actual trail. There is no fee for parking, but finding an open space can be difficult during peak hours. A truly lovely time spent here!”

“One or the 7 natural wonders. Is just mesmerizing, specially when the sun comes down and gives it a stronger red color”

“Didn't get to stay in the rooms. However, the services they provide up there for hikers are great. Always more than enough information, drinks to be had, gifts to buy, and many things to explore. I would recommend the lodges to any guest that has plans for the Grand Canyon.”
